A Call to Importune God to Stop the War

31 January 1865 - 21 March 1865

The Civil War had to stop. By the end of January 1865, James White addressed the readers of the Review and proposed to invest more time in fasting and prayer. It was even requested to suspend business and meet in the churches to pray.

In March, President Lincoln acknowledged the scourge of the war as a result of the crime of slavery.

By this time the Review and Herald carried in almost every issue information concerning the draft situation and advice to draftees.
