Ellen White Ventures Abroad

1884 - July 1885

An invitation for Ellen White to visit Europe had come from the members of the Central European Mission. The General Conference of 1884 supported that and passed on an invitation to Ellen White.

At first Ellen was overwhelmed with the idea of traveling to Europe. However, when her son Willie encouraged her to go, she decided to act in the judgment of the General Conference. So on Sabbath, July 17, 1885, Ellen White was voyaging to Southhampton, England.
