Good day. Is there any book, compilation or other document with all the views of EGW regarding the role of law in gospel or the role of the law, or anything on the law and the gospel/justification?
Thank you for contacting the Ellen G. White Estate. I doubt that any one source has everything, but I can suggest several sources for you which will give you material for your study.
A good place to begin, almost always, is with the Index to Mrs. White's books. Three volumes of it were published in 1961, and a fourth volume was published in the early 1990s, covering books that had been put into print since the previous volumes came out. You will find a good section under "Law of God," with references to significant statements in the books of Mrs. White.
You will certainly want to look at Selected Messages, book 1, pp. 211-241. This comprises a section entitled "Christ and the Law," and a half-dozen or so brief chapters come under that heading.
Two books hold special promise of offering material of interest to you: "Faith and Works" brings together sermons and messages on these topics from Mrs. White between 1881 and 1902. "God's Amazing Grace" was the devotional book for 1974; it focuses on the theme of grace, which is closely related to the issue of the law.
Finally, you might be interested in a book called "Ellen White on Salvation," by Woodrow Whidden, a teacher in the college religion department here at Andrews. He did his doctoral work on this topic in Mrs. White, but the book is not his dissertation! It is aimed at the interested layman rather than the scholarly community. I believe that R&H published it in 1995.
Perhaps these suggestions will be helpful to you. I hope so. Thank you for writing, and God bless.
