Avondale Adventist High School (Cooranbong, New South Wales, AU)

A coeducational day school (years 7-12) located near Avondale College, Cooranbong, New South Wales, Australia. In 1993 the school had an enrollment of 368 and employed a staff of 25 full-time and three part-time teachers. The school began as a primary school in 1897 with 15 students in a room borrowed from Avondale College. By 1899 the school had 42 students and was run in conjunction with the Teacher Training Department of the college. Between 1922 and 1933 the first three years of high school were added. In 1934 the Avondale Village church began the operation of a full high school, first in the old church in which Ellen White had preached, then in a weatherboard building on the grounds of the church.
