Bates Memorial High School (Sangre Grande, TT)

A coeducational day school on the senior high school level, operated at Sangre Grande, Trinidad, West Indies. It is under the direction of a board of management that meets annually and an executive board that meets monthly. During the 1992-1993 academic year the school had a staff of 13 and an enrollment of 268. Instruction is offered in five-year secondary courses in preparation for the Caribbean Examination Council and is approved by the Trinidad and Tobago government. The forerunner of the school was the Sangre Grande Intermediate School, established in January 1948 with an enrollment of 14, and taught by J. R. Hill and M. McKenzie.
