River Plate College Food Factory / Alimentos CEAPE (Villa Libertador San Martin, AR)

A health food industry promoted by River Plate Adventist University. It belongs to the Austral Union and is located in the town of Villa Libertador San Martin, in the province of Entre Ríos, Argentina. Its beginning goes back to Sept. 26, 1898, the date in which it was decided to create a Seventh-day Adventist school in the province of Entre Ríos. While an adequate building was being constructed, classes were held at the first director’s home in Las Tunas, in the province of Santa Fe. Early records of the school refer to students milling wheat for the manufacture of whole-grain bread. This they sold to the population, which at that time was familiar only with white bread.
