São Paulo Old People´s Home / Centro Adventista de Convivencia para Idosos (São Paulo, São Paulo, BR)

A home for the aged situated near Brazil College (Instituto Adventista de Ensino) 12.5 miles (20 kilometers) from downtown São Paulo on the highway of Itapecerica da Serra. It is owned and maintained by the Welfare Department of the São Paulo Conference, under the supervision of the secretary of that department. Plans for the construction of a home for seniors were begun in 1948 at an outing and conference of the various Dorcas societies of the São Paulo area. Funds were raised, and in 1950 the home, with a capacity of 25, was opened. Since 1964 it has been occupied by an average of 17 women and 11 men.
