Shalom Nursing Home (Yokosuka) (Yokosuka, JP)

A nursing home for the aged, established in 1984 at Yokosuka, Japan, from funds donated by a non-Christian businessman who was a patient at Tokyo Adventist Hospital. Funds were also received from the government. There are two buildings, one for physically handicapped people and the other for mentally handicapped people. Each building has 50 beds. In 1992 the home employed 81 workers. The institution is managed by funds from the government of Japan and from Yokosuka City. Director: Toshio Takahara, 1984-1993; Kenjiro Hori, 1993- .
