David Baasch

(1921-1987). Missionary, administrator. He was born in Puerto Rico, the son of missionaries. After graduation from Pacific Union College in 1943, he married Iva N. Munson. They had two sons and two daughters. Baasch began his ministry as an intern in the Arizona Conference in 1943 and soon became a departmental director in the Puerto Rico Mission. He was ordained to the ministry in Santurce, Puerto Rico, in 1948. He held the position of departmental secretary in the Colombia-Venezuela Union from 1948 to 1951, after which he was called to be principal of Colombia-Venezuela Union College. He also served as Inter-American youth director for the Inter-American Division, president of the Mexican Union, secretary of the division, and associate secretary of the General Conference before accepting...
