Howard Detwiler

(1889-1951). Administrator. After graduating from Mount Vernon College, he worked as an evangelist in the East Pennsylvania Conference until 1920. Then he became Bible teacher at, and shortly afterward principal of, Mount Vernon Academy. He was president of the West Virginia Conference (1924-1928), the New Jersey Conference (1928-1932), the Columbia Union Conference (1932-1942), and the Potomac Conference (1942-1951).
