William Nelson

(1883-1953). Educator and treasurer. He received his B.S. degree from Union College (1904) and did graduate work at the University of Nebraska. He was head of the Department of Science at Walla Walla College (1906-1916), president of Southwestern Junior College (1916-1921), president of Pacific Union College (1921-1934), secretary of the General Conference Department of Education (1933-1936), and treasurer of the General Conference (1936-1950).
