The Fall

The event by which human beings, created in the image of God and ordained to reflect His sinless character, forfeited the state of innocence, incurred the penalty of death, and introduced into the world the disorders resulting from sin. By partaking of the forbidden fruit in the Garden of Eden, Adam and Eve, progenitors of the human race, rebelled against divine authority and fell into a state of spiritual depravity from which they were unable to extricate themselves.
